Why is that Fear and hat based Racism? NOT expecting the government to pay
EVERYTHING for EVERYONE is hate and Racism? I'd say, it'd be a damn good
society, because it would mean that EVERYONE is paying everything for
THEMSELVES, or with help from employers; that would mean near 100%
employment.

Except, there is no such thing as 100% employment. Where we are right
about now is about where we need to be, believe it or not. Any MORE
employment, and the pressure on wages increases, which is GOOD for
workers, but BAD for the economy, since employers are forced to raise
prices, and inflation sets in, etc etc, and the next thing you know, you
have 7% unemployment, which is Not Good.

The Great Depression was only 33% unemployment, which is 1/3 of the work
force, which on the face of it, doesn't SEEM that bad (as long as you're
not one of the 33%...)

The BIGGEST problem is the Welfare system, and here I WILL sound Racist,
but it's not hate based; the majority of people on Welfare (at least where
I live) were NOT born here, but are US citizens; they take up SO much of
the resources that there is nothing left for anyone else. And then they go
out with their 5 kids and get into their 2 year old mini-van, after
spending about $200 of the $750 'clothing allotment' for school clothes on
clothes.

The system REALLY needs to be torn down and revised, There is a lot of
abuse, and i don't mean because Uptight WASPS aren't eligible; just for the
reason above...out of $750, $200 spent on clothes. That's what the $750
was for!!!

And I have SEEN the 'welfare Cadillacs' with my own two eyes. Well, not a
Cadillac; how about a 3YO BMW?

What do I have to do with that? There are PLENTY of evening schools,
remedial classes, English as a Second Language, etc. Don't say it takes
time away from the kids, etc; my Grandfather came from Germany and PAID to
enroll in night school so he could learn the language; he went to work
with his father (who ALSO paid to learn English) and they went to work
building houses, first for others, and then for themselves until the
Depression hit, and then my GF got a job in the Local Tap & Die works
where he worked until he retired. Luck? Perhaps. But he took the time to
LEARN what he needed to know in order to succeed. And he did.

And they had a garden, and pigs and chickens, etc. Of course, these days
zoning laws would prohibit this, but that isn't the point. Who would DO
it. rather than just going downtown for a check?

And as far as CHOOSING to have no motivation? You hit that nail right on
the head.

So?

My Chinese wife and her family were, and they WORKED their way out of it
and now own a nice house in a nice heighborhood in New Britain, and WORKED
for it all. And they came here with NOTHING, and got off welfare within a
year, cause the kids all learned English (kids...the youngest was
16...)and got JOBS and pooled their resources, and this was all in the
Early 80's when things were pretty bad, but they were in a good place when
the mid-80's hit and there was plenty of money...and they NEVER looked
back. So don't even try to say that these impediments cannot be overcome;
they can if you put some EFFORT into it.

Oh yaeh; over in Laos, where they came from, my FIL had a job with a
company making parts for Nissan, Toyota and the Asian aftermarket (he was
an accountant, fairly high up in the corporation), my MIL had a Rolex and
made Chinese wedding and party dresses for extra money (she still
does...), they had a chauffer and nice TV, Stereo, etc. and gave it ALL up
to come to the US and start all over again, and they did.
