Car parked on drive all day. Soon after noon alarm went off. Outside temperature over 25C. Reset it and within a minute it went off again. Reset it 3 times with the same result.
I then set it with the interior and movement sensor disabled, and the alarm didn't go off again. The interior of the car was extremely hot BTW.
In the evening when it was much cooler, I reset the alarm to make it fully functional again, and it went through the night without any problem, and has been OK all day.
In the 8 months I've had the car, this is the first time the alarm has given any trouble.
Seems it might be connected to the interior car temperature. I would have thaught that unlikely, but the fault, if there is one, seemed to dissappear when the temperature dropped.
Coincidence, or could interior temperature be the cause?

I once had a problem with a large moth setting off my alarm, only in my case it happened at night when the pest flew up to try and mate with the nearest streetlight.
Could there be a little wildlife in your E39 that likes the sun?
