Further to T G Lambach's lament, I just heard on the radio news that
standard 95 octane petrol (c. 91 US) has hit 90 pence a litre somewhere in
Britain. (Well, it's been well over 80 pence in the London area for a
while.)

Get your violins out please.

(The other week I was in Jordan where the price was much closer to US
levels; I enjoyed filling up...)
