WOW, they pinged them to death, that is some expert hacking
there.

DDS attack. o_O

TDD
I know I keep saying that I'm gonna do it.. but this time I'll
make good on my promise. I SWEAR I'll go out this evening so I buy
boots to shake in. :D
If you want to retaliate the Megaupload take down, use the LOIC link
on my site and bring gov't departments to their knees. Have fun ;)
So am I to gather that you are an Anon supporter or affiliate?
:)
Good to see other like-minded individuals who are actually still
posting to Usenet to help keep it alive. Kudos to you.

We should chat sometime, you and I. Much to discuss and, um, don't
want any LEAs snooping... IYKWIMITYD

Question is, how should we go about it? I *could* install GPG and
provide you with a key to give you the info you need to reach me
beside posting it to a public forum in clear text.
Use my site to send me a message. Sign it as Sycho so I know who it's
from.
Might not be a wise idea. Anybody reading this post could do that very
thing and say it was me when it wasn't.

How ya gonna know for certain?
Good thinking. I'll have to reflect on how to do it.
You could connect to my IRC server and mention something that only you
and I would know.. kinda like a code word or phrase.. I hate even
thinking about going that route but for obvious reasons it might be
the best option available at the moment.

Tell me, are you a "Black Adder" fan? I have an idea of a phrase from
the TV series Black Adder Goes Fourth. It'll be multi-encrypted.
That's all I'll say at this point.. I won't say by what manner or in
what order but I'll keep it simple.

IRC info: 3wd.no-ip.org 6667 #TheLounge
Alternate: http://3wd.no-ip.org/pjirc/3wd-irc-chat.html

If you use the alternate method, by default it logs you in as "Guest".

Should you have any difficulty connecting the alternate route, I have
instructions for both I.E 8 and Firefox 9.0.1 here with screenshots
added: http://3wd.no-ip.org/pjirc/prequal.htm
Are you able to lock people out of your chat if you choose to?
Yep. Kick, ban from the server, ignore, ban from the channel.. which
ever. :)

However I haven't had to use my admin powers yet other than to make
someone an admin.
I didn't see you there!! [g] I went ahead and replied to "the cat".
Oh!!! Well, I only came outta the shadows to say "BOO!!" and slink
back in before you had a chance to turn around and see me. lol

So ... no one can spy on you while you're talking?
A packet sniffer or Trojan would be the only way to do that. :)

But as far as security, no I don't use SSL because this version of my
IRCd doesn't support it. There are later versions that do, however
I've yet to find a working keygen.
You're talking Greek to me. I don't know what all that stuff means.

SSL = Secure Socket Layer. For web sites by default, it uses port 443
(that you are connecting to). It secures transmission between you and,
say, a financial institution, such as a banking web site, to prevent
your login credentials from being sniffed. SSL uses a wide variety of
encryption algorithms.

For IRC however, SSL connections are made on port 7000 typically. It
too uses various forms of encryption to insure that no one is able to
sniff the data being transmitted between you and the IRC server you're
connected to.

Okay. Maybe I got that. [g] Sort-of.

I just learned (yesterday) how to make an x-face. I was so proud of myself. It took a *long* time to get the thing to work.

W00t!!!!! Congrats on the new discovery!! :)

I am going to work on the picture and when I get it to looking better, I'll show you. If your news reader sees those things.
