"Google - internet explorer provided by myspace"

wtf?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
People still use IE?

Some websites refuse to work properly with anything else. Microsoft
ones, mostly (and certainly not surprisingly).

The windowsupdate site, for instance.
People still use Windows?

<sigh> yes, sometimes we are forced to, and other times, we use windows
for nostalgic reasons, just as every once in awhile we might pull out
the commodore 64.

LOL!

In all seriousness, I use Wintendo all the time. I am kind of forced to.

We (LA County) are co-developing an application along with Orange, Riverside
and San Diego counties. (Orange is the lead and we're the main partner
right now.) This is for an electronic document recording project intiated
by the State Attorney General. (http://ag.ca.gov/erds1/) We're the biggest
county in the nation in volume and certainly in California. We often work
closely with Orange and a few other Southern counties.

In any case, I was just testing the Title Company
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Title_insurance) process for submitting
documents through the system. The client we wrote is .NET 2.5 and Windows
Forms. I imagine I'll be able to convert it to Mono.NET and run it on a
real OS but for now I have to drop down to Vista or XP or Win2K.

Here's teh app..

...and here's the document submitted.

It is a test of a Reconveyance
(http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Reconveyance) being
submitted to LA County from "Kai's Title Company."

Of course, my main app is in Wintendo and I have three Wintendo boxes on my
desk, along with my openSUSE laptop and an openSUSE desktop.

Notice I have Firefox open. When I need IE, as in our app for document
viewing, I often use IE Tab within firefox to load IE7 inside Firefox.

I have to use windows too every once in awhile, I use it mostly in my contract work so I don't tie up my main computer.
