Unfortunately my wife couldn't take the bourbon on the plane, but sheThat must be one hell of a bourbon !
got me an airline bottle of the place she was at

it's pretty good, 45.2% alcohol too, it will definitely light on fire :-)
The choice here is quite limited, even in the specialist's (Sp?) stores of
which there are only 2 in Rotterdam.
My personal favorite is the Tennesee Gentlemen Jack (Jack Daniels)but I
won't spit in the Kentucky Maker's Mark !
Enjoy the Woodford, preferably from a glass like this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glencairn_Whisky_Glass, but a big and heavy
tumbler with very thin edges will probably do as well !
One might even consider a small cigar...
I move there. The distillery is in one of the areas I am considering
moving to :-) This particular bourbon (my wife tells me) has some very
specific rules surrounding the process of creating it. One is that they
only use the barrels once, then they sell them (empty) to all who want
them. Apparently Jack Daniels among others buys them.
This obviously very special bourbon might need a very special glass, one I
happen to have and will send to you. (mail me outside 2600)
(There's a bit of moist inside the glass, but otherwise it's mint)

That's very generous of you, and in return, if possible, I'll send you a
bottle. However, we best wait until I get there in jan/feb. I have
enough stuff to move as it is. It seems the minute we bought our house
we started filling it up. Now we have 2400 sq ft of stuff + the 2 car
garage which barely has enough room for my VW at the moment.
Absolutely NO NEED to send me a bottle !
Period. The glass is yours.
Sending the glass after you move is probably the best idea.
As far as I know these type of glasses are also called Renault glasses.
I googled, but could not find anything, so don't ask me why they are called
Renault...must be a French thing...
Anyway, the glasses are well known here in Europe and fairly commonly used
in the better restaurants that have a wide selection of whisky's and
bourbons.
The function of the lid is obvious, I guess.
So it doesn't catch fire? :-)
This glass was "borrowed" for 99 years when I visited the Glenmorangie
House a few years ago.
Well...must be at least some 10 years ago...

Of course you understand that I only drink my bourbon from official Rolls
Royce tumblers nowadays, nothing else will do...
Ahem...

Does that go in the bar in the back?
RR and a number of their coach builders like Mulliner Park Ward, Hooper and
the more unknowns like Gurney Nutting all designed some sort of a bar for
storing a decanter with 2 glasses.
Often they were incorporated in the center divide or the in the front
seats. There were many designs ranging from "cheap solutions" like placing
the decanter and glasses in the doors to the elaborate jobs of integrating
2 rear seats in a complete bar unit that is situated in the back of the
car.
I'm still looking for a cabinet type of bar that can be integrated in one
of the front seats, facing the passengers in the rear, just below the
picnic table, see http://i36.tinypic.com/2ahbjid.jpg
Finding one might prove to be a tad difficult though...
