Same here. I have PSSH http://www.sealiesoftware.com/pssh/ (I consider it secure when used over a 3G network) installed on
the LifeDrive, and Moby Explorer http://www.bermin.net/mobyexplorer.html installed on the
phone, though I've never used them in real world applications.
For some things, you really need a PC, at least a small
notebook.
I literally carry my office around on my back. For awhile I was
working at 3 different locations and work was kind enough to
buy me the 17" macbook pro. I'm at one location now with
occasional meetings offsite, but I can also work at home. I
will never buy a desktop again, and if I leave I'm not giving
this thing back :-)

Hehehehee! I know what you mean. I bought a desktop last year with a 250GB HD. It gets used....

for storage,
and burning DVDs,
and testing sites in IE7.

Otherwise, I haven't used anything but my laptop for working on since early 2004.

Up until recently, I have had a "brick and mortar" office. But when I lost my job (due to lack of funding, not because I did something bad) and moved to another job(s) I had to be a little more mobile.

Yeah, that's what I meant. So you *can't* use the iPhone as
a modem? Wonder if that'll change when they add 3G.
No, not presently, although I can't see any reason you
couldn't if it had the right software. Doesn't AT&T offer
free wifi gizmos for your laptop?
If they did, I'd have one! They just came out with a wireless/broandband dongle, like Sprint and Verizon have had
for years. No price on the ad I saw for it, though. I've been
meaning to check it out when I get a moment.

They have been advertising it as "free", but even with new
glasses my eyes aren't good enough to read the disclaimer.
Maybe it's only with new accounts.

More than likely, yeah. We found out last week about the "secret disclaimers" when you add a line "for 9.99." That's IF you're already on a Family plan. If not, you have to change TO a Family plan, and I lost over 4,000 of roll-over minutes :(

::sniff::

Not like I'd ever USE 'um, but it was nice knowing they were there...in case there was ever anyone I'd wanna talk to for, say, 7 days straight.

I have a lot of rollover minutes too not 4000, but I think at least 1400, I keep reaching the limit and losing them though.
