what email program do you use? You shouldn't need anything special to
extract the headers from an email...
Google right now, what I am looking for is a software program that I
can take into a court room and using EnCase or similar software,
emails will be extracted from a foreign hard drive or server's backup
tapes then run it through some software to show the headers and ip
info, see an in camera review of Gov. records will have to be done in
the court room, the other party will object to emailing this
electronic record out to another server back to my laptop to use one
of the regular techniques, with gmail , thunderbird, ect., see it has
to be contained in camera, see the forensic analysis will have to be
done totally with my labtop in frount of the judge because the sorce
email will be from Gov. hardware, if I can't do it I will lose.
http://spam-abuse.sourceforge.net/ is one simplistic tool for what
you want to do.
/Doc - there are others...
Hey Doc, it's 381kb file not much info on how the software works it
looks like you have to "report and wait for conformation" is that the
deal ?, I need something the the Fed's have confirmed to be "self
contained software" I guy emailed me about a new data forensic
analysis software for strickly "data analysis" no 3rd parties
involved, what you say ?
