I'm a 180 and can pick up a small block. Come back when you can do that with
a big block with cast iron heads.

I can pick up a complete big block with the
transmission attached. Uh,.....engine hoist.
It's amazing how much weight you can pick up
by using the right technique. It's not unusual
for me or my brother to carry a compressor for
a 5 ton AC up a 24 foot ladder. We have to double
team a compressor for a 7.5 ton and up unit.
The trick, as you know, is to use your big leg
muscles and keep your back straight. Believe me,
carrying any weight up a ladder is twice as hard
as any dead lift, ask a fireman. Years ago I weighed
180lbs and freaked out a guy at a pizza place when I
handed him a 100lb sack of flour with one hand,
palm up. It was a trick, I had my elbow braced against
my ribcage. He took the sack with both hands and
he hit the floor when I let go. Needless to say, it
was quite funny. I must be an ant. <snicker>
