Recommendations wanted

OK guys, here's a chance to pontificate & have someone actually pay attention.

Her: a senior citizen with a failing 5-year-old Dell.

She wants to replace it and is wondering: what "name-brand" PCs are known
for their good quality? (she doesn't want to pay to have one assembled,
she wants to buy one from a store that will stand behind their product).

She's not a power-user...won't do much more than MS Office, QuickBooks and
web surfing. I'm suggesting to her to have a RAID setup so she doesn't
ever have to worry about losing data.

So, what do you like & why?
