800# Research...

Been a reader since the single page days but this one has me stumped...
I have a few 800 numbers on a list that belong to someone else... They are
out of business but the number is still active. The number will become
available to me in the next year or so *IF* I can figure out what telephone
company owns or controls the 800 number.
Searches find only the end user, not the TelCo with control over the number.
Even the pay for services only find the end user and not the true
controllers of the number.
Anyone know of a source to find the TelCo?
I used to have an excel database with EVERY 800# in the USA and what TelCo
owns it... But that was 15 years ago. I'd actually love to still own that.
:)
Replies here will be read.
