Question about MPEG's

When a MPEG or MPE file is sent through Yahoo's Chat server(incendent
date 2001) and then the targeting computers harddrive, is there a way
to see is the file has been altered, i.e. like a watermark or
something in the programming in the files writings, I understand that
the Feds have such a program but can't get info on it.
