Anonymous has nothing to do with it.
Actually it really has everything to do with it. Fact of the matter
is you're far too much of a spineless coward to post opinions under
your true identity.
Fuckwits issue blanket statements like "smart developers use Flash"
It's not a blanket statement you stupid retard, it's a statement of
fact which has been backed the *** up with tons and tons and TONS of
facts. I mean, unless you want to take on the "undefeatable Flash
list"...yeah, get the *** outta the thread kid, cause yer outta yer
league.
Do be sure and let us all know if
you manage to formulate an argument...
Smart developers work to a strict set of universal standards ie CSS
First of all you junior fuckwit, CSS is not a set of standards...it's
a style*** language used to describe markup language content.
Further, assuming you just tripped over your lack of knowledge and
meant the W3C, they only RECOMMEND standards...and since no browser
maker on the planet actually follows ALL of those RECOMMENDED
standards...yeah...they're meaningless at best.
In general attempting to meet W3C specs shows good intention, however
it most certainly DOES NOT equate to cross browser and cross operating
system compatibility.
then use their 'smarts' to code cross browser fixes.
If you knew anything about web coding you would know that some things
just can't be fixed...at least not without sacrificing functionality
and design. The Amish of the Internet really aren't of much use to
real web designers though. I mean it's not like car makers try and
advertise to the horse and buggy brigade. Your kind is best suited to
a nice plain black font on a white background, anything more than that
and your "fixes" start falling up short.
When the browsers start
universally displaying the information correctly this will not be necessary.
Free cl00, Dip***, that's not EVER going to happen (for a whole
fucking slew of reasons that have already been covered a dozen times
over).
They don't resort to flash.
As I said, if they know what they're doing, they do. Coding in
ActionScript isn't like coding in a kiddie language like HTML though,
which is why your type is so easily scared off by it.
As can be seen in the new Flash based, cookie cutter web board I'm
developing you don't even need HTML to display Flash content at all:
http://www.backwater-productions.net/_test_platform/Forum_Template/index.swf
Flash is currently the end all solution as far as the user front end
is concerned, there is NOTHING better. Anything you can do with
HTML/CSS/javascript I can do better, smaller, faster and more cross
compatible with Flash. Here's the list, you newbie fuckwit, let's see
your stupid n00b ass try and counter:
1. Support of 32 bit JPEGs (more specifically you can import 32 bit
PNG files, use JPEG compression on them and Flash will keep the
transparency layer intact).
2. Fully cross operating system compatible with all major operating
systems.
3. Fully cross browser compatible with all major browsers.
4. Support of the On2 VP6 codec.
5. Support of color matrices.
6. Support of audio spectrum analysis.
7. Support of alpha transparent video.
8. Fully cross browser support of alpha transparent image files
(possible with a bunch of extra javascript...even then though there
are compatibility issues and it's far less efficient).
9. The ability to track the number of bytes loaded on a particular
object.
10. The ability to dynamically control the loading of media files
(could be done in javascript but not as easily and less efficiently).
11. Direct connection to ports with the ability to "talk" directly
with a particular protocols language.
12. Ability to analyze and manipulate image pixel data in a whole
variety of ways. (Java/PHP are comparable in that respect)
13. Ability to stop a media file from being loaded during the loading
process.
14. Ability to control the resizing of elements, being able to turn on
and off smoothing for specific elements and making use of bilinear and
bicubic resampling. (can be done with a combination of PHP and
javascript, but it's less cross browser compatible and uses 10 times
the amount of server resources and is about 700% slower, even with
server side image caching.)
15. Fully custom cursors (can be done with SOME versions of IE using
CSS, but even then yer limited to cur files and can't use larger
images).
16. Custom context menus.
17. Custom scroll bars.
18. FIFTY TIMES FASTER than javascript when dealing with animated
elements.
19. Custom video/audio controls (can be done ~somewhat~ with
javascript but ONLY with certain browsers like IE...and even then with
only about half the functionality that you can get with Flash.
20. Direct support, creation and control over vector based graphics.
There's TWENTY different things that can only be done with Flash.
There's a couple that ~sorta~ can be done without it...but only if you
want to make your sites so that they only function on Internet
Explorer...and even then you can't get ALL the functionality that
Flash offers.
Even for just a plain text site Flash is VASTLY superior to HTML in
that it allows for custom embedded fonts, proper font anti-aliasing
and perfect liquid resizable text (as opposed to just liquid space
stretched text).
So there ya go, n00b.job, let's see your stupid ass try and formulate
a counter argument (free cl00, you'll be the first...well, assuming
you can of course, LOL).
