Maybe they don't try very hard on their windows versions.

I find iTunes to be really annoying, I have never had specific problems with it (corrupting the library etc.) on my mac, but it just kind of moves in and takes over. The only positive thing I have to say about it is that I like it's tag editing feature. However, I would just as happily do without it if I could put music on my iPod directly.
