Gotta love that HR!Underpayed and overworked my friend. Welcome to Corporate America.
Here's the scoop: I was promoted as of 4/2/07 to Division Manager.
On 4/1/07, the all staff at my old position got a 5% raise.
On 4/11/07, I achieved my one-year anniversary, thus enabling me to get
a step increase from step four to step five. (This means I get more
money.)
Per my HR representative, she says I should be paid as a Division
Manager step one - $1077.58 a month.
If I had stayed in my old job, I would soon be getting $1257.18 a month.
In other words, I'd be $200/month better off had I stayed in my old
position.
In addition, one of my section heads, who works for me is at step five
and is making the $200/month more than I would on step one of DM.
I'm glad at least I'm paying attention to all of this!!
I alerted HR to all this and they are now making the "necessary
calculations" to ensure I get at least a 5.5% raise from my previous
salary.
LOL!
