Well, with over 250,000 lines of code (in COBOL, C#, C++ and ASP.NET), a
45GB index file (containing 150M records to start and expecting 3.5M/year
forward), 18TB of images, and an annual volume of roughly $1.5M that will
be tracked....

...yeah.

We spent pretty much every weekend the past ten weeks doing user stress
testing.


The sad part is that we're crossing our fingers simply because of our
network. The building where the primary (1000) users are located is from
the '80s, and the network is from the '90s. IOTW, we're dealing with a
10/100 situation. There's been a project for the past two years to upgrade
the infrastructure to newer Cisco gigaswitches throughout. However, due to
various issues (beyond my control) the project won't be done until June at
the earliest. So we're gonna be putting a shitload of new network traffic
on the system (we're replacing a mainframe program) and really won't know
until Tuesday exactly how bad it will be. We're aware of slowdowns, but
can only test so much.

Then there are the three branch offices....


...sigh.
