So as you can see, killing svchost.exe pretty much rips the poo hole out of windows :P It actually runs more than that, under a different PID..
Not if you're careful. Here's a guy who managed to run Windows -well, let's say, not crash it- without running any services apart from System and csrss (the real one): <http://www.sysinternals.com/blog/2005/07/running-windows-with-no-services.html>
Yeah i heard about that recently, havent looked into it yet though :P
